POND MAINTENANCE

Owners are required to maintain ponds on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis. This includes removal and replacement of the dirty sand media. Local and state laws dictate that your ponds be maintained in working condition for perpetuity.Failure to meet this criteria can lead to fines in excess of $2000 per day per violation.

Water quality and detention ponds

These are comprised of three different functionalities.

Detention ponds hold rainfall from site run-off for slow release to a creek or other waterway normally over a 48-60 hour period.
Sedimentation ponds allow for settlement of large solids such as dirt, trash and other debris.
Filtration ponds typically comprised of sand, gravel and filter fabric, capture finer sediment and filter the storm water before discharging it back into the creek or other waterway.
